The amphitheatre was built many years ago using stones from the surrounding area of Kili and Kissonerga village. Recently arcaeologists discovered that it is aged more that 1500 years old.

Many ancient tragedies from famous Greek writers like Aristophanes, Aeschylos and Kiniras were played here. 

Occasionally, in this amphitheater there are various festivals of palouze and shoushoukos, there are exclusively two well-known traditional Cypriot sweets. In Cyprus, the palouzes are usually made with white grapes and, of course, the shoushoukkos are made from the palouze. There are many versions that it will be prepared. From village to village and from region to region the recipe is different.
